Australia encourages men to grow a beard in December to raise awareness for bowel cancer. The disease affects 1 in 10 Aussie men making it Australia’s second biggest cancer killer, it’s also one of the most treatable when detected early.

While the risk of bowel cancer increases significantly with age, the disease doesn’t discriminate, affecting people off all ages. Make sure to talk to your doctor if you notice any changes and stay on top of you FOBT tests. It can be done in the privacy of your own home and is a great way for early detection.
