Women's Health Week
Women’s Health week runs from 2nd to 6th September, it’s used to promote the importance of women’s health and encourage women of all ages to check in on their health.
This year they are shining a spotlight on some of the biggest issues in women’s health, under the banner “Your voice, Your choice”. Every day during Women’s health week, Jean Hailes will release new resources, checklists, stories, podcasts and more.

Brain Injury Awareness week is held annually to raise awareness of brain injury and its impact in Australia.
The 2024 Theme is “what’s your connection?” As we know, the brain is made up of many synapses and neuropathways which connect how we think, feel, behave and act, move, smell, see, taste, understand and so much more. When one of these connections experiences an injury, many things can change in a person’s life. Healthy Bones Action Week 12-18th August!
This year’s initiative held from 12-18 August encourages Australians to think about their bone health.
Did you know that babies are born with close to 300 bones and by the time you become an adult you have 206 Bones in your body.
The smallest being in your ear which is known as the “Stapes” and is less than ½ cm. The biggest bone in your body is the Femur located in your thigh, connecting your hip to your Knee.
It’s Important to protect your bones, you can do this by consuming dairy products daily such as, Milk, cheese & yogurt for calcium.
Weight training exercise such as, running, Dancing, climbing stairs.
Getting some safe sun for Vitamin D which helps absorb and retain calcium & phosphorus for building healthy bones.
