Pap Smears
A pap smear is a simple procedure where a number of cells from your cervix are collected and sent off to pathology to test for any abnormalities. This test is a screening tool used to establish the future risk of cervical cancer, and is recommended to be undertaken every 2 years.
Menstrual Concerns
Irregular periods, PMS (premenstrual syndrome), PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder), menorrhagia (heavy bleeding), break through bleeding, cramping, amenorrhoea (absence of periods) are just some of the many concerns you may be experiencing with your menstrual cycle. Our doctors can investigate the cause, and suggest any actions to improve your quality of life.
Sexual Health Issues
Sexually transmitted diseases are on the rise in Australia, and our doctors can discreetly test for sexually transmitted diseases (Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV, Herpes Simplex, and Syphilis). If diagnosed, our doctors can explain the required treatment plan, and assess the need for any further investigations.
Infertility
Infertility can affect both men and women of any age. There are many different causes of infertility, such as age, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, hormonal imbalances, irregular cycles and un-diagnosed sexually transmitted infections. Our doctors can undertake the necessary investigations to determine if any underlying issues are causing any fertility problems.
Menopause
Usually occurring between the ages of 45 and 55, menopause is a natural process that culminates in a woman’s final period. The years preceding your final period can be filled with symptoms such as night sweats, hot flushes, mood changes, loss of libido, irregular or heavy periods, itchy skin, osteoporosis, vaginal dryness, discomfort with sexual intercourse, headaches, and difficulty in sleeping. Our doctors can investigate your menopause and establish whether you could benefit from Hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
